Part 1: (Presentation) Instructions Students will research an Art movement of their choice and use it as inspiration for their final project. You will show your understanding of the elements and principles of design along with the other techniques we have focused on this semester. This project has two parts, a PowerPoint slide show along with a final drawing. Everything in PowerPoint should be in your own words and should include a reference page at the end.
The Presentation Will Include:
1. Name of the art movement
2. The time period in which it took place
3. What the art movement is about. What sets it apart from everything else? What techniques are common in this movement?
4. A list of 5 artists whose art is related to that movement.
a. A slide per artist including one of their pieces. The artwork should be properly titled. Artist name, Title of the work, The date of the artwork, The size of the work, The medium of the artwork. Medium is what it is made from (acrylic paint, charcoal, graphite).
Format:
Title Slide: Your name and the art movement you choose.
Slide 2: Time period, what the art movement is about, what sets it apart from everything else, what techniques are common?
Slide 3: Artist 1
Slide 4: Artist 2
Slide 5: Artist 3
Slide 6: Artist 4
Slide 7: Artist 5
Slide 8: Works cited
Part 2: (Final Drawing) You will have artistic freedom as you create your final project based on techniques from your choice of art movement. Your drawing must include a figure or a concentration on the human form. You may choose from any of the drawing materials in the room (pen and ink, colored pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, chalk pastels, graphite). You may use paint as a background, but the final piece must be primarily drawing materials. Students should consider their composition using the rule of thirds.
What You Need To Know:
This is part of your final
I should be able to tell which art movement you used to inspire your drawing
Your drawing will be on 24 x 20 paper (this is the largest paper you have used this semester)
Needs to include a figure or a concentration on the human form (hand, skull, legs, eye, mouth)
