Practice Directions:

- Follow the directions to create a selected color example with all four of the above practice photos.
- Save them in each as "SC Practice 1", "SC Practice 2", etc. in a JPEG file format.
- Create a contact sheet with your finished example photos.
- Upload the contact sheet to Google Classroom for points.

- Select any ONE (the MOST interesting and colorful) photo you have taken.
(MUST BE YOUR OWN PHOTO!) - Open the photo in Photoshop
- Crop it using the rule of thirds and using the "HxWxResolution" of 7"x5" x 300ppi.
- Convert your image to the best black and whites possible.
(ZONE SYSTEM = Black, white, and 5 to 7 values) - Perform the Selective coloring skills we practiced together to up to 40% of your photo.
- Save it as JPEG file.

- Create an interesting 9"x7" background in Photoshop for the journal page.
- Title the journal page "Selective Color"
- Write a description/definition of what selective coloring photography is and how you create it.
Also, tell the purpose of this, why would anyone convert a photo using this style? - Place your photo on the page.
- Type your Name, Hour, and Computer # on the journal page.
- Save it as a JPEG file to your Desktop.
- Submit it to G-classroom!
